"If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God."
(Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
God promised Abraham that he would be his shield and his "very great reward" (Genesis 15:1). No question about it, that promise caused Abraham to be extremely successful and it will do the same for you. What is it like to be blessed in every way?
Deuteronomy 28:1-9 tells us. It says you can be blessed wherever you go. In fact, it says your whole family can be blessed. What you work on can be blessed and you'll always have more than enough. It says God will defeat your enemies, and on and on it goes. You'll be blessed in every area, from your schoolwork to your family to your possessions to your everyday business.
Sound to good to be true? Well, it's not. That's what Jesus bought for you on the cross. It will begin to happen in your life if you'll "obey the Lord your God."
Notice I didn't say it'll happen just because you're a Christian. Ken and I were Christians for five years before we listened to what the Bible said to us about living well. So, during that time, we weren't living well. That curse (the opposite of living in God's blessings) came with all its force. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get away from it. Then we began to believe God's Word--we became obedient because we wanted to--and good things started to happen. First a few. Then a few more. The longer we obeyed God and believed God, the more those good things happened.
Just like the curse once chased after us, now God's blessings chase after us. I like that much better.
The same thing will happen to you if you'll follow the instructions in Deuteronomy 28 to fully obey the Lord. Carefully follow all His commands. Then, all these blessings will come upon you!

Now for the long-awaited, long-overdue update to 14forty.com...
Its been a long time since you've heard from us but we wanted to let you know that a whole new look is coming to the web site. You can still get all the messages from Wednesday night services but there won't be many more updates until we launch the new site. We are excited about all the many and wonderful changes that are coming to 14forty!
Post Date: [02.19.09] - 2009 BELIEVER'S CONVENTIONS
Here is a quick update on our plans for conventions this year... 14forty will NOT be holding services for junior high and high school students this year at the West Coast Believer's Convention in Long Beach, California. We will however, continue to have youth meetings at the South West Believer's Convention in our home town of Ft. Worth, Texas. This is going to be the best year ever! We have invited our good friends from GO Ministries to come and help us with this summer's meeting. If you have never seen GO before you are going to love them! They bring music, ministry, and the "In Motion" drama team. This is going to be an amazing week of meetings. Make your plans to be there August 3-8, 2009 at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. Join us for the INVASION.
